After interviewing a wide variety of semi-finalists with tremendous potential and ideas, EforAll chose 14 entrepreneurs for our 2016 Winter Accelerator Class! The finalists were selected based on their ability to commit not only to the program, but also to their business or idea, as well as their desire to impact community and society.
After a review of their applications, each candidate pitched their ideas to a panel that included mentors, successful entrepreneurs, CEOs, and executives. The panel scored each entrepreneur. The finalists were chosen based on their scores and the class roster was announced. Shortly after, each entrepreneur was paired with a mentor and the classes began. The accelerator mentors are individuals with significant business and leadership experience who help guide the entrepreneurs with their ideas.
This class includes: a legal investigations support service, two creative counseling/marketing agencies, an artisan bread company, a yoga and wellness studio, an interactive apparel brand, and many other entrepreneurial pursuits.
At the beginning of the accelerator, the entrepreneurs wrote down their expectations for their mentors. Their responses included: “open communication,” “expertise & experience,” “positivity, creativity and savvy,” “active listening,” “strategic marketing advice,” “honest feedback,” “confidence, collaboration, connection,” and “WISDOM.”
The mentors were asked the same question of their entrepreneurs and their responses ranged from: “flexibility” to “persistence” to “honesty” and “excitement.”
The entrepreneurs, mentors and the EforAll team are all excited for the promising winter accelerator.
