A good mentor answers many questions; the best mentors ask great questions. By holding up a mirror, and asking Socratic questions that push you, the entrepreneur, to sharpen your strategy (why you will succeed), clarify your message (what you do), and focus your operations (how you execute), mentors help entrepreneurs discover the best answers come from deep inside themselves. By combining curiosity about your venture with their experiences, both good and bad, they’ll help you discover the best path forward.

My experiences span technology product development, from new market identification, through product specification, architecture, development, and deployment, primarily in networking. I’ve also been both a founding board member for tech startups as well as a public company officer responsible for worldwide products at Sycamore Networks where we created and deployed new classes of optical switching and mobile data products. Leading acquisitions at Lucent, and research and engineering experience at Bell Laboratories gave me front line insight into engineering and corporate development. Undergraduate and graduate research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Stanford Medical School in anesthesia piqued my interest in leveraging engineering in medicine. Running elementary school math clubs, coaching youth robotics teams, caring for an Alzheimer patient, and riding the Pan Mass Challenge for over a decade are additional experiences to tap. Let’s chat if any of this can be helpful to you.

“...Your expertise in addressing my needs is extraordinary…always relevant and useful…Whoever gets you [as] a mentor in the future would be very blessed…”
